Going up and down

Work has been going very fast on site. Charlie and his men have finished the framework for the new building, so we can now see windows and doors and get a feel for how big the building will be.

We are going to have one set of double doors to enter the shop space. Then on the side closest to the Barn we are going to have an office and kitchen area partitioned off from the main room so that we can have committee meetings and prepare food for parties etc in the clean and dry. Then towards the back there will be a disabled toiled with level access from the back along the fence and accessible all the time from outside. We are hoping to have a small inside toilet as well for use during Hut opening hours.

Charlie and the gang looked like they were digging for Britain as they started excavating the new septic tank.

And we are delighted that we can now announce that we have been successful in getting a grant from the Big Lottery’s Awards for All programme – £9,950 for the construction and fit out of the kitchen and disabled toilet . This is a very welcome addition to all the fundraising activities you’ve all taken part in over the last five years, including our amazing raffles!
