Here are the rules, policies and handy growing tips to help members garden safely and successfully.

Rules

As a Co-operative society we are bound by a set of Rules which all members must adhere to. These are registered with the FCA. You can read them here.

Tenancy agreement

The Association’s committee agrees a set of byelaws which are the practical application of the Rrules so that members have a very clear understanding of what they can and can’t do. You can read them here. They form part of the Tenancy Agreement which each member signs when they take on a plot.

Summary of accounts

Our accounts are published on the FCA website here.

Shed application form

We have very clear Rules about what you can and can’t do when putting up a shed or greenhouse. Before you do anything you must fill out an online Application Form and wait for a member of the committee to approve your plans.

Use of equipment

We load out mowers and strimmers at certain times. You may not use this equipment without training from a member of the committee first. Please ask for assistance.

How to grow better

From time to time we put on workshops or talks about how to improve aspects of growing vegetables and fruit. However, there are always other plot holders who are willing to pass on their wisdom and experience. Do ask around!

Our history

Friern Barnet Central Allotments Holders Association Ltd has been around since 1923. We are currently looking into our history and that of this part of Friern Barnet and will publish some of that information here. You can also see a blog and photos of how we rebuilt our Trading Hut in 2016 and photos of putting in composting toilets on the site.
